Our Story and Mission
Who We Are
A Home for Every Cat in Need
In the heart of Gonzales, Louisiana, Rescue Alliance was founded in 2019 out of a deep love for animals and a commitment to helping those most vulnerable. Our grassroots effort began with dedicated volunteers addressing the urgent need to rescue abandoned, neglected, and abused cats.
Our transformative work has allowed us to rescue cats from various situations—strays on the streets, pets left behind during moves, overcrowded shelters and those surrendered by families unable to care for them. Each cat receives the medical treatment and love necessary to heal and thrive.
Today, Rescue Alliance stands as a vital part of animal welfare in Gonzales. Despite facing challenges along our journey, we celebrate every adoption, every life saved, and each person inspired to advocate for animal welfare. We remain committed to our mission and look forward to continuing our impact on the lives of cats and their loving families for years to come.

- Life Insurance – You can name Rescue Alliance as a primary life insurance beneficiary or as a contingent beneficiary should your other beneficiaries not survive you.
- Charitable Gift Annuity – A charitable gift annuity translates into tax savings, secures your retirement by receiving reliable annual income, and supports the future of Rescue Alliance kitties.
- IRA Distribution – A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals, 70½ years old or older, to donate to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking the required minimum distribution without, which increases the individual’s taxable income.
