Who We Are

A Home for Every Cat in Need

Rescue Alliance: Leading Feline Welfare in Louisiana
Founded in 2019 in Gonzales, Louisiana, Rescue Alliance emerged from a profound commitment to animal welfare and a dedication to protecting the most vulnerable. What began as a grassroots initiative by passionate volunteers has evolved into a pivotal force in rescuing abandoned, neglected, and abused cats across the state.
As the leading agency for the Louisiana Feline Task Force, Rescue Alliance plays a central role in coordinating feline rescue and welfare efforts throughout Louisiana. Our comprehensive approach addresses various situations—stray cats on the streets, pets left behind during relocations, animals surrendered due to hardship, and those at risk in overcrowded shelters. Each cat receives thorough medical care, rehabilitation, and the compassion necessary to heal and thrive.
In addition to our rescue operations, Rescue Alliance operates a Disaster Animal Response Team (DART), a specialized unit trained to provide rapid assistance in the aftermath of natural disasters. This team plays a critical role in rescuing animals left behind or stranded due to hurricanes, floods, wildfires, and other emergencies. The DART unit is equipped to handle high-stress situations, entering disaster zones to recover animals, provide immediate medical care, and transport them to safety. Volunteer Louisiana
Today, Rescue Alliance stands as a cornerstone of animal welfare in Gonzales and beyond. While challenges have been many, each adoption, each rescued life, and every inspired advocate reinforces our mission. We remain dedicated to advancing our impact—ensuring that every cat has the opportunity to find safety, healing, and a loving home.

Mission

Rescue Alliance’s mission is to protect and improve the lives of cats across Louisiana through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and leadership as the state’s leading agency for the Louisiana Feline Task Force.

Vision

To create a Louisiana where every cat is safe, valued, and part of a compassionate community, free from the cycle of pet overpopulation.

Value

We are guided by compassion, integrity, and a commitment to collaboration, prioritizing the well-being of cats, promoting responsible pet ownership, and working tirelessly to address pet overpopulation through education, rescue, and advocacy.

Leave a Lifesaving Legacy

Through our legacy giving program, you can make a difference and secure a better future for cats in need. When you leave a legacy gift to Loving Care Cat Rescue, you become part of the Rescue Alliance family, ensuring that homeless cats and kittens know love, safety, and compassion not only today, but far into the future.  There are many ways that you can make a current or future gift to save homeless kitties.

  • Wills and Trusts – Making a gift through your will or revocable living trust is a simple and flexible way to save the lives of homeless cats for years to come.
  • Donations In Lieu of Flowers – When planning your final arrangements, communicate your desire for donations to Rescue Alliance in lieu of flowers for those wishing to honor your memory.
  • Retirement Assets – A gift of your retirement assets from your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), pension, or other tax-deferred plan is an excellent way to help kitties for years to come.
  • Life Insurance – You can name Rescue Alliance as a primary life insurance beneficiary or as a contingent beneficiary should your other beneficiaries not survive you.
  • Charitable Gift Annuity – A charitable gift annuity translates into tax savings, secures your retirement by receiving reliable annual income, and supports the future of Rescue Alliance kitties.
  • IRA Distribution – A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals, 70½ years old or older, to donate to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking the required minimum distribution without, which increases the individual’s taxable income.

Founded in 2019, Rescue Alliance Cat Rescue is an independent non-profit organization, made up entirely of volunteers and funded by the generosity of individuals, businesses, and organizations. Legacy gifts play a significant role in allowing us to care for thousands of pets in our community. Thank you for including Rescue Alliance in your estate plan!
